Crochet Soap Saver Bags






Soap Saver Bag

Requirements:
Cotton or cotton-mix DK yarn

5mm crochet hook
(this is a bigger size than is usual for DK yarn – to give a looser open fabric)


Pattern:

This pattern is written in UK terminology        
ch = chain    tr = treble crochet        htr = half treble crochet


Size:

Width ~   around 3¾” - 4”
Length  ~  around 6”


Worked in the round

Chain 4, join with a slip stitch into a ring

Round 1:   Ch2, make 11tcr into ring, slip stitch to join (12sts)

Round 2:   Ch2 then 1tr in same stitch as ch2, 2tr in each stitch all around, join with slip stitch (24sts)

Round 3:   chain 3 and make 1tr into the same stitch, * miss 1 chain, 2tr in next chain, repeat from * all around, join with a slip stitch  (24sts)

Round 4:   chain 3 and make 1tr into the first 2-stitch group, 2tr in each 2-stitch group all around, join with a slip stitch

Repeat Round 4 seven times more

Round 12:  chain 2, make 1ht into each stitch all around, join with a slip stitch

Fasten off

Darn away ends

Make a crochet chain using 2 strands of yarn together

Thread through the bag, and tie a bow

Put a bar of soap inside

This can be used as an all-in-one washcloth and soap !
